When eighteen-year-old Eva graduates’ high school early, she volunteers on a trip to Costa Rica to bide her time until she’s off to college in the fall. During her adventures across countries she meets Tomas, a twenty-four-year-old local. Sparks immediately fly, and she’s swept up into a romance with her newfound freedom as an adult, including losing her virginity to him.
But as their relationship develops, Eva realizes that Tomas is not at all who she thought he was, and his abusive tendencies only grow worse until one night he tries to kill her.
With her supportive father, she devises a plan to escape before she loses everything—including her life.
